The 2011 Rosé comes from the Suacci Vineyard, Marshall Ranch & Herbert Vineyards. On the nose there are hints of wet stones, earth, orange peel and watermelon. This elegant, crispy wine has a pretty salmon color, with a long, chalky, richly spiced finish. As with many Rosé’s, the wine is very versatile at the dinner table. Pair this wine with a beet salad, oysters on the half shell, or match it with homemade pizzas.
2011 was another long and cool growing season much like the 2010 vintage. We had lower yields compared to 2010, but ripening still took a long time due to the lack of sunshine. All in all, we had nice even ripening, and the flavors developed fantastically in the vineyards.
