Suacci Carciere Wines Release

Suacci Carciere Wines will be winding down its operations after 10 years of much success and a great deal of support from our loyal followers. We are pleased to announce that we have established a relationship with a new winery, Bailarín Cellars, a partnership formed between Brianne Suacci Sylvia, Chris Ryan and Don Jaramillo. A Spanish word for dancer, Bailarin Cellars will have the exclusive right to sell and market our previously unreleased wines. We encourage you to visit their website and support them in their quest to craft fine wines with the same love and friendship and hands-on attention to detail that Suacci Carciere Wines has become known for over the years.

As we reflect on our 10 years of wine making, we are most proud of the success we’ve achieved and the awards, but it’s the memories of the people we’ve met along the way that will carry us through. We wish you all happiness and good wine as we move to the future.

Suacci Carciere Sweeps 2013 Sunset International Wine Competition

Suacci Carciere is thrilled to announce that three of our wins were big winners at the 2013 Sunset International Wine Competition.

2009 Heintz Vineyard Chardonnay – GOLD WINNER
2009 Suacci Vineyard Pinot Noir – SILVER WINNER
2011 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir – BRONZE WINNER

Sunset Magazine, the leading media brand of the Western lifestyle, received 2,977 entries that were then judged by 49 of the most prominent wine judges in the country.

The wines were tasted in blind flights. The judges knew only varieties, vintages, and regions; they weren’t told the prices of the wines. Each judge gave the wine an individual score, and the scores were averaged for the wine’s final score. Based on those scores, medals were awarded to the field of entries in these percentages: 10% Gold Medals, 20% Silver Medals, and 20% Bronze Medals.

Results of the competition will appear in the October 2013 issue. A PDF of all medal winners will be available online here by September 30, 2013.

San Francisco Chronicle’s Top 100 Wines of 2010

Our 2008 Heintz Vineyard Chardonnay was named one of the top 100 wines of 2010 by the San Francisco Chronicle.

“This tiny Sebastopol label doesn't actually use its own vineyard for this serious, focused wine, relying instead on the Heintz site in Occidental. Winemaker Ryan Zepaltas coaxed out a rich lemon-curd profile, with scents of mace, dried hay and Bosc pear. Astoundingly fresh and vibrant, full of mouthwatering apple flavors.” —San Francisco Chronicle, December 2010

“Delicious, and best of the tasting.”

For the second year in a row, the San Francisco Chronicle has selected our Suacci Vineyard Pinot Noir as one of the top Pinot’s in the Russian River AVA.

“Ryan Zepaltas crafts this for the Suacci family in a spicy, seductive style. Savory burnt orange, cardamom, cola, a darker leather hint and delicate berry fruit. It's supple but not soft, with great clear flavors and a quiet energy. Delicious, and best of the tasting.” —Jon Bonné

2007 Heintz Vineyard Chardonnay Receives 93 Points

Kens Wine Guide gives our Chard a “Very Good+” rating of 93!

“This yellow colored Chardonnay is very impressive. It opens with a yeasty lemon custard like bouquet. On the palate, this Chard is full bodied, very well balanced, and wonderfully creamy. The flavor profile is a very pleasant blend of lime and lemon with complex hints of banana, pineapple, and light oak. The finish is dry and very refreshing. We felt that this was a terrific Chardonnay that would pair perfectly with chicken cordon bleu. Enjoy —Ken”

The San Francisco Chronicle recommends our 2007 Pinot Noir

“The young Suacci vineyard southwest of Sebastopol is on a strong upswing, enjoying its second commercial release made by the talented Ryan Zepaltas from fruit picked in early October and aged in around 40 percent new oak. Deeply stylish, with notes of cola, bright berries, tamarind and fenugreek, and a sappy, weighty palate. Rose and cocoa on the finish provide even more depth. Alluring and powerful.” —Jon Bonné

Winemakers Dinner

We call these “Table Hop Dinners” because the Winemakers move tables with each dinner course, enabling them to get to talk with as many attendees as possible. Meet the winemakers and enjoy over 16 acclaimed pinots, perfectly paired with a four course, pinot-focused dinner. Our Winemakers Dinners are unique because we combine the broad exposure to pinot that our festival offers with the chance to “go deep” with a few winemakers whose wines and personalities are paired with each dinner course.
